ISE is to organise a Latin American AV summit which will take place alongside the trade show in Barcelona at the end of January 2024.
The summit was announced in Brussels by Integrated Systems Events managing director Mike Blackman.
Speaking to Barcelona’s Vanguardia newspaper, Blackman said that ISE was betting strongly on the city becoming the audiovisual capital of Latin America for the duration of the trade show.
With the support of former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau and new mayor Jaume Collboni, ministerial delegations would be invited from major Latin American countries to meet with businesses. Barcelona would get back to its role as a bridge between Europe and Latin America, taking advantage of similarities in language and culture.
Blackman had been invited to Brussels on the occasion of a European Union and Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) summit held during the Spanish presidency of the EU.
Since its move to Barcelona, ISE has been drawing increasing interest from Latin America, notably from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Chile.
