A 2.6mm pixel pitch LED display has been installed at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) in the UK to improve the passenger experience and increase advertising revenue.
The 2.5m x 1.5m display was installed in conjunction with a Scala content management system by Harrogate-based LED video wall integrator Betta-LED.
Betta-LED’s project development consultant Andrew Lingard worked closely with the airport’s advertising manager Dan Waddington, making sure all requirements were met. To begin with, LBA was looking at another LCD screen. However, after hearing the benefits of LED digital signage, such as high brightness, a wider viewing angle, ease of maintenance and adjustment, and bespoke sizing, the airport opted for LED instead.
The advanced LED display ensures high-quality graphics and video capabilities, allowing real-time flight information and digital advertising to be shown to the 4.5 million passengers that pass through the airport every year.
The year 2023 is set to be LBA’s busiest yet with new routes, destinations and increased passenger numbers predicted.
