PDS has expanded into the outdoor display market with the launch of the 10,000 nit Philips Urban LED 6000 Series at ISE.
The company has also confirmed it has been chosen as the exclusive official supplier of LED and digital signage for FC Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou stadium redevelopment, and will provide 1.2km of outdoor LED, including two concourse rings and three video scoreboards.
The Philips Urban LED 6000 Series has a 10mm pixel pitch and is available in three panel sizes. It offers a contrast of 5,000:1 and 7,680Hz refresh rate.
The panels have an IP65 rating, which ensures they are resistant to water and corrosive airborne pollutants. They have been built to withstand temperatures ranging from -20C (-4F) to 50°C without risk of condensation.
Vice-president of global marketing and business development at PPDS, Martijn van der Woude, said: “Recent research shows the global outdoor LED display market size will have grown from $7.58bn in 2022 to a staggering $29.87bn by 2032.
“PPDS is now perfectly placed to support this growth and to bring new opportunities and innovative capabilities to partners and customers around the world, indoors and out.
Jeroen Brants, PPDS’s global product director of LED displays, said: “As already demonstrated by our partnerships with Oracle Red Bull Racing, Harlequins RFC and now FC Barcelona, PPDS has become a recognised leader for quality and innovation, delivering world-class solutions that are relied upon on the biggest sporting stages.
“Just a few short years ago, PPDS was considered a new entrant in the dvLED arena – and today we’re winning some of the biggest and most sought-after contracts on the planet.”
