Daktronics provides LED display for oil firm’s control room

The video wall – which is 2.7m high by 14.6m wide and has 1.2mm pixel spacing for a resolution of 2,160 by 11,520 pixels – displays data at KazMunayGas’s analysis centre in Kazakhstan.

Daktronics has teamed teamed up with AV integrator AG Tech Kazakhstan to deliver a wall-covering LED display in oil and gas company KazMunayGas’s new control and analysis centre in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The installation features a single digital platform to cover the full upstream-midstream-downstream cycle, allowing the control centre to monitor, control, analyse, store, collect and process data.

The LED video wall – which is 2.7m high by 14.6m wide and covers an entire wall of the control centre – features 1.2mm pixel spacing for a resolution of 2,160 by 11,520 pixels. It displays information and data key to the control centre’s operations.

Mathieu Verbraken, development manager at Daktronics, said: “For this installation, we delivered our 4-in-1 IMD solution, delivering best-in-class contrast and no reflectivity for optimal viewing in a daylight environment. With floor-to-ceiling windows opposite the display, no other technology could render these colours without reflection.”

Alexander Podvalov, chief executive of AG-Tech, said: “Thanks to our close cooperation and partnership with Daktronics, we have successfully implemented several projects worth more than $2m, including the construction of the control and analysis centre for KazMunayGas , which is one of the key projects for stabilising the oil products market in Kazakhstan. I am sure that even bigger projects and installations of Daktronics equipment in Kazakhstan are ahead of us.”
