Thailand’s first 8K documentary is being used to promote the destination’s culture and sustainable tourism.
The Hues Of Faith – which has been produced by Delta Electronics (Thailand) in collaboration with the Thailand Entertainment Creators Network Association and Pixel Magic – was filmed in three temples in Chiang Mai and on Chiang Dao Mountain, with the aim of showcasing the Lanna culture.
The 15-minute documentary was inspired by Delta’s founder and honorary chairman, Bruce Cheng, according to a report in the Bangkok Post. Cheng is passionate about promoting innovations in 8K digital projection, and Thailand’s cultural and natural heritage.
The premiere of The Hues Of Faith took place at the CentralWorld shopping mall in Bangkok, using Digital Projection’s Insight Laser 8K projector. The company’s flagship projector has an ultra-high resolution of 7,680 pixels by 4,320 pixels, and offers 25,000 lumens of solid-state laser-phosphor illumination.
Over the past four years, Delta has collaborated with 8K filmmakers around the world to create documentaries. The world’s first 8K environmental documentary, Water With Life, was produced by the Delta Electronics Foundation and NHK Enterprises to raise awareness about water conservation.
